Although we live several dozen kilometres apart, the inhabitants of these islands have no idea about any event that concerns us. They are from another world. They live on their tiny island of 23 square miles (60 km2) as if they lived on another planet. We call them Sentinelese because our contacts are very limited and we do not know what they call themselves
The government of Bharat respected the decision of the people of North Sentinel and allowed them to live their own way. A ban was imposed on approaching the island within 5 miles (9 km). This made the Sentinelese people find themselves under an invisible dome. Their entire world is reduced to one island and its coastal waters. And this is only because they did not decide to see what is beyond the horizon…
They will not even realize when humanity establishes its first settlement on another planet or moon. I wonder if they will ever decide to take this step and sail out into the open waters. They will sail in a straight line about 22 miles (35 km) and… discover the entire universe.
Of course, at first these will be islands inhabited by about 380 thousand people. However, it will be an amazing discovery for them.
At the moment, our contacts are similar to observing another planet using current technology, rather than interpersonal relations.
Time will tell if the Sentinelese will ever discover that there are several billion people on this planet…
