This soldier died last in the last battle of the Polish Army in the war that began in 1939. Exactly 24 years after the beginning of World War II.
On October 21, 1963, at about 3:45 p.m., a unit of the Polish Army fell into an ambush. It was near the village of Majdan Kozic Górnych. Due to the overwhelming numerical superiority of the enemy and the encirclement, the unit decided to withdraw.
