Everyone knows that the losers are doomed to the mercy of the victors. In ancient Rome, it was easy to become a slave and end up on the sands of the Colosseum for unpaid debts.
It was a difficult era. Especially for delicate souls. A moment of inattention and… fate marked a different path of destiny.
Although we were not the first. Others came before us, such as the Republic of Ragusa. However, we did it on such a huge scale.
That is why, despite many adversities, our family managed to create a Community based on the values of respect for other people and individual freedom in relation to state institutions.
It would seem that the cannon shot of one ship would not leave its mark on the reality surrounding us in which we currently live. And yet the facts are undeniable.
Because, as the classic says – it does not matter how it began. The most important is how it ends. We should remember in what eras our ancestors lived. That we also live in a certain era, which future generations will name according to their preferences.
That is why we would like to bring you closer to the fate of the crew of a certain ship that sailed the seas and oceans. So that the memory of their heroic deeds that paved the way for our family will echo. Like a shot from a ship’s cannon on a calm summer day.
