Understanding Islanders
It’s not as easy as it seems at first glance.
You only have to look at the variety of languages to realize that this is a mosaic made up of island communities. Each island is a world in its own way. It has developed its own unique style, which is visible literally everywhere.
When we delve into the history of the islanders, we realize that they are inhabited by free people. People who had to learn to coexist with each other by respecting the differences of others.
And although it has been different in history, they have created a unique system of values.
The Isles of Guernsey, Jersey and Man are not part of the United Kingdom. They are also not part of the European Union. They are a separate government administration and are not part of the Commonwealth of Nations, but the inhabitants of these islands have British citizenship. That is why they have their own representation at the Commonwealth Games. As well as in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

The diversity of this world is seen in the example of the islanders’ council, which consists of 8 members.

Within a radius of 100 miles you can enter Ireland and the United Kingdom. The European Union and the Commonwealth of Nations. And if you are not tired of traveling, you can leave the Commonwealth and the EU and go to tiny islands somewhere between the worlds. Creating their own unique culture…a world of free people.
To be a separate part and a part of the whole at the same time. Knowing that you belong to one big family. And all this within a radius of 100 miles.
A small world understood only by its inhabitants…
