In different languages these words sound different and carry different meanings.
In the Polish shade, it is a story of Tehran, 1943.
It was there that the fate of Poland was sealed –
laid out on the market stall between a lamb skin and a pair of good boots.
The Poles, unaware that their future had already been decided,
fought in every battle they could,
hoping that after the war a different fate would await them.
Alas… that was not what had been planned in 1943.
And the teacher who explained what these words mean in English
