When I lived in Ipswich, I once told one of the inhabitants of the town that there were 11 of us living in a house with two bedrooms and a living room. And he took me to a place where there was an abandoned house. Located on the same street as he lived. And he explained to me literally everything I should do to become the owner of this house. Unfortunately, he didn’t know that my destiny was taking me in a different direction.
How I ended up in Scotland. Almost completely out of money.
In Glasgow. In the city library, I met a man who worked there. He offered me a place to sleep at his house. He took time off work to take me to his house by car. Then, leaving me alone, he returned to work. He let me stay at his place as long as I wanted. It touched me very much. A complete stranger offered me this. I only stayed one night. I rented a room in Motherwell and life moved on.

That’s when it happened. The rhythm of my heart tuned in to what the wind was whispering to me about, whipping my cheeks and coming to me from somewhere over the ocean.
When I set out on this journey to London, I had no idea that I would return home as a Commonwealth child
